The budget of the UK in 1996

The pie chart is showing us about how much the UK government spent in 1996.

As you can see the UK government spent a lot of money on social security which was £100 billion, almost twice the amount on the second which was health and personal social services, £53 billion. In addition the debt interest was nearly half of what was spent on health and personal social services, which was £25 billion. Also if you add defence, other expenditure and transport it will be close to health and personal social services which are the total of £54 billion. However as you can see the UK government spent £40 billion on housing and debt interest which was £25 billion and 15 billion, and if you add law and order which is £17 billion and £13 billion for industry, agriculture and employment, so it will be £40billion which is more than education by £3 billion.

To sum up, in the pie chart the biggest expenditure was on the social security which was almost 32%.
